Meeting the knowledge-based information needs of Legacy Health
Point of Care CME
Purpose & Desired Outcome
Point-of-Care (POC) learning is an approved CME activity in which the clinician engages in self-directed, online learning on topics relevant to their clinical practice. The desired outcome of this activity is that in asking clinical questions at the point of care that can be answered using electronic Library resources, clinicians will see a change in their knowledge, competence, or performance that can be applied to their practice. Providers may complete this activity multiple times, on different clinical questions.
Target Audience
Legacy CME activities will focus on the needs of Legacy affiliated physician staff, and the physician involved interdisciplinary teams within which they practice. Additional identified learners include house staff and community physicians, as well as physicians in selected distant sites. Please contact CME staff for assistance with registering for CME credit if you are outside of Oregon and Washington.
Steps of the Point-of-Care Process:
1. Identify a topic for research related to your clinical practice.
2. Research your topic through an approved Legacy Health Library Services resource.
3. Access the credit form from this link.
4. Complete the POC credit and evaluation form.
5. Submit the form, earning 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credit for each query.
