About Me:

Lori has worked with Legacy since 1999 at Good Samaritan, Emanuel and Mt. Hood Medical Centers. She has supported the needs of patients, families and staff in the Critical Care Unit, inpatient medical and surgical units, family birth unit and in the outpatient Oncology clinic. She loves working as part of a team and believes every patient and their family member(s) are at the center of the team. Lori brings compassion, curiosity, authenticity and values the connection between body, mind and spirit as she creates safe space to explore strengths and challenges in health and wellness. She is especially excited to support others who feel "stuck" to see new possibilities and options in their lives no matter the circumstances. She serves on the Ethics Committee for Legacy Health and provides training, education and consultation for social workers throughout Legacy to support their ongoing professional growth and development.

Training: She received her BA from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, her masters degree (MSW) from Portland State University and she completed her Advanced Practice Fellowship in Palliative and End of Life Care at Smith College in Northamptom, MA. She has an Advanced Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Social Worker (ACHP-SW) as well as Certification as an Oncology Social Worker (OSW-C). Lori is adjunct faculty at Portland State University where she has taught in the classroom and in the community and she is also on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Social Work in End of Life and Palliative Care.
