What is a doula?
A doula is a birth companion who provides personal, non-medical support to birthing families during pregnancy, labor and birth, and the postpartum period.
Why work with a doula?
A doula can help explain your options during your prenatal care, develop a birth plan and be by your side providing support during labor, birth, and right after delivery, too. Doulas provide support after you go home from the hospital to help you and your family adapt to life with a new baby.
Who is eligible for a Legacy doula?
Any pregnant patient who is receiving care through a Legacy LMG clinic and who is covered under Medicaid, OPH, Open Card, or CAWEM+.
