DURING YOUR STAY
Learn who will care for you.
Families are at the center of care
We strive to put you and your family at the heart of all we do. If family members want to take part in your care, our team is here to support, encourage and educate.
Nurses
Your nurse is an important member of your hospital care team. Most of our nurses are registered nurses (RNs). They are helped by licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs).
Hospitalists
While in the hospital, one of your doctors may be a "hospitalist." A hospitalist is an expert who cares for patients while they are at the hospital. They work with your primary care doctor and specialist.
Teaching programs and students
All Legacy hospitals provide training to medical professionals and students. As part of their training, they may help care for you, and are managed by our care team. If you have questions, feel free to talk with your doctor or nurse.
Care managers
We have specialists to help you or your family with social services. Our care managers can address plans to leave the hospital, including for people who cannot return home right away. Our specialists can also discuss financial issues and referrals to community help.
