About Me:

Dr. Aris Thanos received his medical degree from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. Upon graduation, he performed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School investigating the mechanisms of vision loss after retinal detachment. Dr. Thanos completed his ophthalmology residency at Harvard Medical School Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary and fellowship training in adult and pediatric vitreoretinal surgery at Associated Retinal Consultants of William Beaumont Hospital. In 2016, he received the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Award, the highest honor for a vitreoretinal surgery fellow in the United States. His research interests pertain to adult and pediatric retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity and familial exudative vitreoretinopathy.. From a surgical standpoint, his interest pertain to macular hole without face down positioning, complex forms of retinal detachment, among others.

Although my wait time was very long once Dr Thanos was in the room I felt well taken care of. He was pretty clear about what he saw and spent sufficient time with me. Dr Thanis is the best.

My glaucoma doctor had this appointment scheduled for me to check out an anomaly on my retina. Dr Thanos' findings were expressed clearly to me. Follow up was scheduled for next year.

Dr. Thanos took a great deal of time with me and it was very helpful. I'm going through another issue and he was so supportive and so helpful. Dr. Thanos has excellent patient skills and I know he is an excellent doctor. My issue has been cleared up by his Thoughtful guidance.

I was out of networks and everyone was AIS helpful in working f with my insurance to get an exception. Also the speed in which multiple procedures we scheduled and performed was exceptionally done

Any confusion or misunderstanding was not the result of how I was treated. I'm old, I'm slow, physically and mentally. All persons met during my appointment experience were extremely kind and considerate. I was immensely disappointed (and frightened) at not being able to resolve my vision. I continue to be confused and surprised with still more referrals.

My medical care was excellent by doctor Thanos and his team.The only thing I believe.Legacy needs to do is put my mental health provider.In contact with my.Physical care provider. I have complex PTSD.And communication.With my mental health provider would have been helpful.

The Doctor was on top of his game. He showed me a model of an eye and explained to me what was wrong with my eye. He was very good at his explanation.. From that he showed me why we were going to get another review in 6 weeks to see how things were going.
