Seemed knowledgeable and had prompt answers to my questions
I had a great experience this time and I appreciate changes made for me to enjoy the experience moving forward
Dr Shinabarger is among the best doctors I have ever visited. He is competent, caring and thorough. An excellent physician. Six stars on a five star scale.
Very happy with all aspects of my visit and response from my initial call to set the appointment.
I trust him completely and always feel better after seeing him. He explains and tells me the truth, but is encouraging and says things like, well it Is all about small victories isn't it? He answers ALL of my questions. He is a skilled, knowledgeable, caring doctor and surgeon. I wouldn't go to anyone else. I consider him the gold standard in his profession.
Felt a bit rushed but that's typical for Legacy. As is often the case, the assistant asked irrelevant questions and didn't seem to understand what was needed. The doctor, as usual, was very good.
I came into the office on crutches with a freshly broken fibula. Assistance was offered by staff, but I felt that my autonomy and independence was respected, which was important to me. I also did not have to wait very long to be seen and was allowed to move furniture around to get comfortable in the waiting room. The care team and the doctor himself were all very kind as well as extremely conscientious and gentle with my injury, especially during my assessment and x-rays. Additionally, all of my questions were answered and I appreciate that I was given a realistic and compassionate answer when I asked the doctor (pre x-rays) if I'd need surgery.....While the human beings were wonderful, I would have liked a white noise machine in the exam room (mostly to help with anxiety- the aspect of surgery was especially was difficult). Also it would have been easier to get comfortable in the waiting room if there were foot rests/ ottomans/ foot stools available or offered to prop up my injured ankle. It struck me as odd and inconvenient that these weren't already present in an office specializing in podiatry.
Dr was friendly, listened and explained well.
Felt very safe and assured with his care.
The Dr is outstanding and very friendly
Someone from the team made sure my questions were addressed, when I didn't feel like they were. Everything was cleared up, and I felt heard, and was satisfied. I would recommend Dr Shinabarger and his staff to anyone (and have!)
The MAs were amazing! Efficient, friendly and helped me get a quick appointment for a painful problem! Dr Shinabarger is great! I have referred many friends to him.
Everything and everyone was fantastic!
Excellent response and recommended surgery on left foot bunion. Surgery was well done, little pain and the recovery to date is terrific. Shinabarger is an excellent surgeon, great interpersonal skills and I'd recommend him to family or friends
The doctor seemed extremely rushed and I actually had questions as I was walking out the door that I just didn't feel I had time to explore or ask.
This was an absolutely great surgical experience! Everyone took great care of me throughout the process! Specialists such as the Anesthesiologists went in very great clear and concise details to answer all of my questions. The nurses provided me with great care and really helped me out on the day of the surgery. This surgery went smoothly and very well, I am motivated to get my left foot healed so that Dr Shinabarger can perform the same procedures on my right foot as soon as he thinks I have recovered sufficiently from my left foot operations. I now have hope that I will back running again one day, I know it will be a while, that is ok. I am extremely grateful for having Dr. Shinabarger operate on my left foot. Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible!
Since it generally takes 3 weeks from appointment request to appointment availability, it would be optimal to have a 'wait list' option in order to have a chance at an earlier appointment. I waited too long with my condition, hoping it would resolve itself, before contacting the specialist. It appears I should make an appointment ASAP and then cancel if my condition resolves prior to the appointment date.
This provider is awesome
I was seen first by an intern who explained plantar fasciitis in clear terms and a friendly, attentive manner, Dr. Shinabarger came into the exam room after about 15 minutes, looked at my foot, and recommended treatment. He spent about 5 minutes with me.
This doctors is top notch. He is very good at explaining what is happening and your options. He remembers you. He like you in the eye. His whole team is exceptional.
All good.
It took several months and many phone calls to get the surgery scheduled. One it was scheduled the experience was very good.
Dr. Shinabarger is a real asset to the Legacy Medical Group. He is not only an excellent practitioner in terms of skill and expertise, he also has a top tier professional manner with excellent communication and personal care. I am extremely grateful for being a patient of Dr. Shinabarger. I had an unfortunate accident, but was fortunate to be connected with him as a care giver. BIG Thank you to him and the whole team.
I didn't feel rushed during the visit. But two things he said he would do for me. He didn't tell the nurse who came to bring in my review of my visit. I had to ask for a referral list.
Very professional, great surgeon!!Great team, Office and assistants.I'm very please with their care.
Provider is very informative, professional, approachable. I feel very confident I am in good hands receiving good care for injury.
He's in and out, barely listens, doesn't help get surgery appeal through so walking is painful and basically disabled without surgery
Just routine
Dr Shinabarger always offers thorough thoughtful attention
I was impressed with Dr Shinabarger's knowledge, experience, and plan to repair my bone and tendon. He was very polite, direct, and attentive at any concern and question I had. He made sure I understood exactly how the injury created the bone break and how the repair would heal the bone and tendon. He also offered an option to his plan to consider. Dr Shinabarger has a smile throughout our appointment as well as a moment to discuss hobbies.
I love Dr. Shinabarger. He is by far the best doctor I've ever had, of any kind. He's incredibly smart and confidence inspiring, but also has great 'bedside manner'. He's all around a fantastic doctor. I wish he could just be my regular doc I see for everything. (I know I can't, and that's okay, he's doing amazing things for people's feet and he's 100% the reason I can walk today)
Dr Shinabarger listens very intently to every thing I say. He's very good at explaining things in a way I understand. He seems to have tons of patience. I have a great deal of trust in him!
Very personable, knowledgeable, efficient and easy to understand.
My previous podiatrist retired. This was my first visit with Dr Shinabarger, and he did everything I hoped for with my first visit. I really liked him.
Very pleased with my last visit.
Dr. Shinabarger is highly experienced, which gives confidence to this patient. He knows what he's doing and can talk about it. I have great respect for his skill. He tends to be in a hurry, but I think that is his nature. I have followed his post-operative instructions, and I am totally satisfied with the outcome, almost a year after surgery. My old foot and I have Dr. Shinabarger to thank.
All good
Very professional, yet personable
The provider is very rushed. His residents spend time with me but when he comes in I would say he Is with me for less than 2 minutes. I get conflicting information from him that makes me not completely trust his recommendations (ie. I work with a physical therapist who gave very clear recommendations that conflicted with Dr Shinabarger's-for example he told me that it was ok to walk barefoot around the house when my foot was still clearly fx and the PT felt that was not supportive for healing). My foot is healing but the fx is still visible on the xray (per the Radiologist's reading) and Dr Shinabarger signed off on my care. So I will just assume it will continue to heal with no additional xrays planned. That does not seem right to me.
Great doctor, great staffing
Dr. Shinabarger was extremely knowledgeable about all questions and concerns that I have. I am looking forward to having him perform upcoming surgeries on both my feet. I am grateful to have access to medical care that greatly benefit my quality of life.
Excellent review of my foot problem. Answered my questions thoroughly and respects my opinions. We agreed on the best protocol to proceed with to repair my arthritic and painful toe. Personable and smart. I like him a lot.
Neither good or bad
I felt like he didn't understand that I don't have money to get my feet taken care of but yet he gave me false hope that someone would come to my house or I could go to someone who could help me. I however have to pay out of pocket. If I could do that I wouldn't of needed to go there!!!
It was only for a ingrown toenail. He gave me good instructions to care for it without more aggressive treatment. He was great.
Excellent experience! Clearly heard, understood with a treatment plan I participated in developing. Extremely pleased with care received!!
Dr Shinabarger was great. He listened to my history, did a careful exam, reviewed the xrays with me and identified what he thought the issue was and how it could be addressed. His MA Nyrie was professional and welcoming. She was timely in answering my messages in My Chart and helped facilitate the insurance authorization needed for my MRI. She and Dr. Shinabarger, and their xray tech were top notch
The intake form only lists Male or female options. Gender isn't binary! Between 1-3% of people are known to be trans or nonbinary and this number is likely much higher. Also check your reasons for asking. If medical, there are lots of cis people who you shouldn't make gender based assumptions about either, for instance a cis woman who has had a hysterectomy. If you just want to know pronouns, ask "what pronouns do you prefer (for instance he, she, or they)". Leave the gender question out until its actually needed for medical reasons, then be more specific ("are you currently menstruating" "is it physically possible for you to get pregnant") for instance. Fix your form. Stop causing harm with this question.
Quick and nice
Feel comfortable and respected.
Both Dr. Shinabarger and his resident were very nice, competent and were great with answering my questions.
All q good
Honestly Shinabarger is one of the most caring and engaged doctors I've seen in my poor health lifetime. I'm so lucky to have him on my team.
He is a great Dr.
I like Dr. Shinabarger he explains things to me and if I don't understand he tries to show me.
Short waiting time and visits but gets to the point quickly and makes sure that my husband and I understand before we leave. We lilke that.
I always receive complete, precise, and nurturing care at the highest level. I really appreciate Dr Shinabarger and his associates with the excellent care they all give me!!
The doctor resolved my problem and gave me information regarding how to keep the problem from re-occurring .
I get the upmost respect throughout this office
It is always a pleasure to see Dr. Shinabarger and his staff. He has excellent communication skills with patients. He is a very caring doctor.
The provider is busy - took several days to call me with CT results & plan for surgery vs. no surgery.
Dr. Shinabarger is the one of the most respectful, helpful, and kind doctors I've seen. I actually wish more doctors were like him.
ALL involved were attentive, listened to my concerns, and made necessary accommodations and/or explained underlying reasons. I felt like I was in good hands, COMPETENT hands.
Dr. Shinabarger and his team were very attentive from the start and knowledgeable. They continue to provide great care as I heal from my injury.
Was rushed out be the MA, did not receive AVS or instructions for PT
Dr. Shinabarger is one of my favorite doctor because he is so efficient & accommodating. Where ever you can see him he recognizes you as his patient. 5 star for him!!! Whole team is great.
He seems rushed during the appointment. I wished he took more time examining me and explaining the treatment he was about to do.
Dr. Shinabarger is an eXCEPTional caretaker. He really knows whatvhe is talking about and doing, but also makes me feel important and cared for. He gives me all the time I need to get answers and feel truly cared for. I don't mind the longer wait to be seen because I know it is probably due to him giving similar full attentive care to patients ahead of me. Superstar doctor.
The Dr and the intern were very friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. When I entered the waiting room, I was ignored by the receptionist that had clear view of the door. It wasn't until I walked further into the room that the other receptionist could see me and called me up.
I felt like the doctor was rushed.
Dr. Shinabarger is excellent at knowing the interactions between podiatry and EDS/POTS. I am also always impressed that his residents are also aware of this interaction whenever they interact with me. It is not common to come across doctors aware and knowledgeable about EDS
Dr Shinabarger, Angela, and Nairi provide excellent care. Love em.
Everyone in the office was very friendly, but at the same time professional.
Fantastic provider and office staff!
Very fast appointment after my injury! Provider explained treatment plan and answered all my questions. Great experience
I now have "no" pain in my ankle!
Office great in all respects. Wait time to see the doctor on a very simple problem was about 6 weeks
I've only had the best experiences with Dr Shinabarger and his team. He is not only a very knowledgeable physician but also genuinely cares for his patient's well-being.
This foot surgery needed to be coordinated with a post cancer surgery. All things were designed as needed. Several things to juggle but everything has come together beautifully. The doctor had a baby born and still came hours later to check on my post surgery appointment. All these details have been greatly appreciated.
Very professional and easy to talk to explains what is going on with my foot, reviewed X-rays with me. Always has time for questions.
Dr. Shinabarger and his staff were all so wonderful! Great, friendly attitudes and so helpful every step of the way - from reception to X-ray to nursing staff! And Dr. Shinabarger is one of the best providers I've ever met - he was so personable and fun, and gave me a lot of great information to take home. I felt very satisfied with my visit!
Follow up for ongoing foot pain without relief with previous plan had various options for moving forward to try alleviate the pain/treat the issue.
I fired the orthopedic doctor I originally saw. Shinabarger is the Foot God! No one else will ever see my feet other than HIM!!!
From making the appointment through the appointment itself, everyone was extremely kind and helpful.
He was great, efficient, and kind. I felt seen and heard and he helped solve an issue that had been going on for a long time.
Dr. Shinabarger is an amazing doctor, but your hospitals valet service is a nightmare. Twice now they've double parked me into the handicapped spots at the from entrance. One time, my wife let the guy know when he was getting out and he said he didn't care and left me trapped in my vehicle. I was almost late for my appointment waiting for him to return. The amount of anger I felt over being disrespected this way is immeasurable.
Great experience. So grateful for Dr. Shinabargers care. We ate very impressed with the whole Legacy care
Excellent surgeon. Good listener
My experience was good.
Podiatrist took X-ray of right foot, nothing broken but discussed bunion and arthritis. Didn't really have much to say or advise for me. Had his assistant hand me some printed exercises to do at home after Dr. Left the exam room, to strengthen my ankle which makes no sense to me as I don't have a problem with my ankle. Assistant was not very friendly. I have done the exercises for two days since the appt and my foot hurts more. I've seen two different podiatrists in the past five months, just one at a legacy facility and not happy with either visit. Just handed sheets of paper to buy certain types of shoes or inserts that cost a small fortune and don't seem to help at all.
Very professional and personable along with knowledgeable and helpful.

Dr Shinabarger is probably THE best doctor/surgeon that I have ever seen and I've seen a lot. He is so upbeat and happy. Very positive. He remembers important things about you and your family. He remembered our new grandsons name. I am so confident in my surgery and the repairs he did. My husband and I both are dreading the day we see him last. He is a keeper.
