The Unity Center for Behavioral Health is one of five programs across the nation chosen by the American Hospital Association for its NOVA Award. The award will be given July 28, 2018, and recognizes Unity Center’s contribution to improving the health of our community.
Each year, the AHA honors member hospitals and health care systems by presenting up to five NOVA Awards to the brightest stars in health care.
Specifically, Unity Center’s active and collaborative programs are being honored by the AHA, a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities.
Members of the Unity Center leadership team will receive this distinguished award during a ceremony at the AHA’s Leadership Summit in San Diego, California.
Unity Center is a community-focused collaboration between Adventist Health, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health and OHSU to create comprehensive psychiatric emergency care and inpatient facility for people facing a mental health crisis. Unity Center is founded on:
- Improving the quality and effectiveness of patient care
- Reducing area emergency department diversion
- Reducing short-term behavioral health inpatient stays
- Improving outcomes through community-based services
