About Me:

I am a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in all forms of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. I am one of the few plastic surgeons in Oregon who performs DIEP flaps for breast cancer reconstruction and an emphasis in reconstructive microsurgery. In addition, I also specialize in hand surgery and conditions of the hand. Hobbies include: Traveling, Hiking, Music

Excellent experience. A plus: "nurse" spent lots of time on telephone getting me a taxi for return to home. It wasn't easy - she was very professional and pleasant full time.

Dr. Kim is very knowledgeable about my condition. He talk to me about everything and made me feel great about having the surgery to repair my Carpal tunnel.

Dr Kim explained the endoscopic carpal tunnel release very clearly. I was not aware of this procedure was somewhat relieved to learn about it. Now to just get on the schedule!

Dr. Kim is an excellent provider, clinician, and listener. His PA usually does trigger finger treatment, but he did mine this time - and honestly, it's a bit below his pay grade. Yet he treated me like I was his only concern of the morning. He also saw my son four years ago, without an appointment, for a traumatic hand injury. I called his office for this favor (I used to work at LGS with Dr Kim). They got us in that day, and it was the bright spot of a horrible event. I am forever gratefully to Dr Kim and his staff.

Dr. Kim is the whole package. His peers highly recommend him as a surgeon. He always took time to explain procedures and processes to me. My questions/concerned were always addressed. His compassion and caring is genuine. I felt very fortunate to be in his care. Legacy Health is lucky to have him on their team.

Dr. Kim provided professional and courteous care. He listened when I asked him questions about a treatment plan and offered me guidance on my questions to help me make the right choice. As a suggestion for improvement, I felt that the intake and service provided by the first medical assistant did not meet Legacy Health standards. I don't fault her for struggling to pronounce my name but she didn't even try. When we entered the patient care room, she started to take a set of vitals and didn't explain at all what she was doing. She approached my right arm to take my blood pressure, paused with the pulse ox finger meter, and didn't request or instruct that she needed my left finger to apply the pulse ox. She then asked me about my medications, skipped asking about my prescribed maintenance medication, and asked about the supplements and vitamins. She then asked if I was still taking insulin and when I responded that I have never taken insulin and stated my concern that it was in my chart, she didn't respond. I asked her again how that could have been entered into my chart and for a second time, I did not receive a response. I then stated that I am still taking the prescribed medication noted in my chart that she skipped and she answered, "Ok.". She then left the room. A second medical assistant or nurse entered the room shortly afterward and was very pleasant and professional. She explained who she was, informed me that the doctor was running a little behind, apologized for the delay, and offered me water. She then followed up with me two more times to check on me and offer to replenish my water. Her professionalism, bedside manner, and communication were fantastic and she should be commended for it. I understand that taking a set of vitals and intake can be routine but that is a short-sided perspective from the point of the view of the care provider and the patient shouldn't be treated less than professional and courteously with each encounter. Overall, my visit was fine and I had a good experience. I hope my feedback is received as a constructive suggestion and that my overall confidence in my care and trust in Legacy is unshaken and solid. Thank you for the chance to provided feedback.

I love me a mr. Dr. Kim! He is very thorough.he doesnt waste time yet he doesnt make u feel like ur just a # that goes in n goes out. He is happy and friendly and has an extremely sweet bedside manner...yet, he let's u kno wat u should and SHOULD NOT be doing. He makes a great dr. He really knew what his calling was. Mind you...I detest and fear anything that even looks, smells, sounds or is even related to any kind of dr. So he is like a breath of fresh air to me. He is very empathetic to my pain n that is extremely rare. All of the staff members were delightfully friendly and made me feel like they cared and were very attentive and made me feel happy n secure. Like people who would b my friends.

This was my 3rd visit with Dr Kim plus he performed my carpal tunnel surgery. He is very polite, engaged in who I am and knowledgeable. I'm very happy with his demeanor and professionalism.

In a previous visit to this provider my wait time was almost an hour due to reception being at lunch. This seemed unacceptable for wait time. I also had a lot of trouble getting an appointment bouncing between ortho and plastics several times which was frustrating.I also must ask that you place hand sanitizer in the waiting room.

I never did see Dr. Kim at this visit, instead I was seen by his PA. She seemed quite knowledgeable, but rushed & clipped. I there for follow - up for fx in my hand - took 3 wks. to get an appointment.

when I went in for a second opinion about a tube the doctor who put it in said it was wrong and I told the doctor it a fallen out he said then what are you here for thenafter that I really didn't listen to what he said i got that feeling like I was wasting his time

Only thing is l was less prepared than l thought and consequently did not ask questions l wish l had. Dr. was all business and covered all salient points himself, but he seemed every bit the surgeon, which is somewhat intimidating to me, so that l failed to ask a couple questions l should have. However, l'm pretty sure l can get these questions answered. He also had a stellar recommendation from my primary, in whom l have immense faith.

Dr. Kim was probably in the exam room for a maximum of 1 minute. He didn't even sit down to discuss my concerns but quickly ordered an MRI for me to check for issues and stated I would need to return another day for that. I had asked about some dimpling occurring on my breast and I felt like he just brushed off my concern and said there wasn't anything that could be done to "fix" it due to the "device being located under the muscle" and basically ended the conversation w/ that and walked out abruptly.

I was seen right away. Dr. Kim was nice enough to fit me in the schedule. Dr. Kim was very kind and explained my issues well and did not seem rushed. Dr. Kim's staff were all kind and professional. I would recommend his office to others without hesitation.

The only issue I encountered related to initial scheduling. When I was directed to the office I was told that I needed a referral despite having Pacific source insurance through legacy. This created an extra hoop to jump through I was able to connect with the office manager to forgo this requirement as is my understanding That our insurance does not require a referral in order to see a specialist. Other than this issue I was very impressed with the timeliness and respect I received during my care

I enjoy the doctors & staff at this office & will use them in the future for my needs, but I am disappointed that I was charged $50 copay for less than 5 minutes of face to face time w/the doctor to discuss what was already decided though electronic communication.
