The whole experience with this provider was wonderful from beginning to end. He is very compassionate yet completely professional. The only thing I could say and it minor-is that not all my meds were put in my chart and it does make a difference. But for the absolute wonderful care they gave me I can forget that. Thanks Doc!

Dr Bederka is excellent. He has repaired my knees 3 times. The best knee specialist I have ever seen.

Receptionist was very nice. There were no exam shorts that fit me. I am plus sized. The shorts only went to a large, I was uncomfortable getting my x-ray and had to use a sheet to cover myself.

I had read the online comments about Dr Bederka's professional demeanor and was a bit concerned and prepared for a possible confrontation with him. I found Dr Bederka to be professional, certainly competent, but also courteous, had good eye contact, and explained my injury + treatment options in layman's terms. He was not off-putting at all. I also found the staff to be fabulous. A special shout out to Andy the X-Ray tech!

The doc was very nice and was pretty good about giving information. The only thing is I don't think he believed me when I said I had significant pain. But otherwise he was great

Dr. Bederka, his PA and MA are wonderful. The receptionists and schedulers leave a lot to be desired, however. They are friendly, but don't really seem to know what they are doing. They even scheduled me with the wrong PA who's not on Bederka's team.

I was referred by another healthcare provider based on my MRI and x-ray results. I Understand that I do not need surgery but it seemed as though the doctor had not read my MRI report or looked at my x-ray, was condescending, and seemed pre-occupied with my age more than anything else. It was a less than satisfactory experience and I'd never go to this doctor again for anything. To top it all off he was 30 minutes late for my appointment.

As someone who has worked in the medical and mental health field, I came to this doctor because he is, from what I've researched, one of the best knee surgeons in Portland. However, his bedside manner and ability to converse/listen to the patient (myself) was a huge red flag for me that I did go back to researching other possible surgeons. I had many questions to ask as he was giving me information extremely quickly that I couldn't fully understand immediately even as a semi medically competent Individual. It felt difficult and burdensome to interrupt. Then after an overload of information and recommendations for surgery, he finally asked "do you have any questions?". As the person who is going to be doing a very important surgery for an active individual, it is important to feel confident as well as safe with the person that is doing the procedure. That being said I was very disappointed with my first appointment and only one before Id see him prior to surgery. I understand surgeons typically don't have the best bedside manner, they're not social workers. I felt most sad for the individuals that may go see Dr. Bryce Bederka and not have the best health, Insurance or possibly minorities. As a young, healthy and educated white female, I was baffled by being berated for disclosing that I occasionally use cannabis. (I know this was important to disclose for some thing such as surgery due to anesthesia.) He told me he wouldn't do my surgery for 30 days of non-smoking before and after. However he did not ask my way of consumption, how often, or any other questions regarding this. He just told me "that's a big problem." So to be completely upfront, I was disappointed in this visit but I am also understanding and aware that he is a well-known surgeon that is respected for his skill.

Everyone was great, nice and help full. They all did what they needed to do and explained everything. My daughter and myself, as we were leaving, made the comment that everyone was so pleasant. I enjoyed the friendliness, and Information I was given.

I felt completely at ease from the minute I walked through the doors. Dr. Bederka was very kind and efficient explained things to me and we talked about past treatment. So good to have an honest answer and to learn that some treatment in the past is no longer beneficial. Had a more thorough exam than in the past. Great choice for a 2nd opinion. Will stay with him for future care.
