Gastroenterology is the study and care of the organs of the digestive system and the diseases that may take place there.
Gastroenterologists are doctors who are specialists and experts in the GI tract with several additional years of training after their internal medicine residency.

Key to preventing and treating these issues is finding and diagnosing the condition.
