About Me:

Dr. Burmaster earned their bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, their master’s degree from University of California Berkeley, and their medical degree from the University of California San Francisco. They then completed a residency at Legacy Health where they were recognized as Resident of the Year in primary care. Dr. Burmaster previously practiced primary care in Roanke, Virginina where they also served as Program Director of the LewisGale Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency. They returned to Legacy Good Samaritan in 2024. Dr. Burmaster has interests in evidence-based medicine, health disparities, and the social determinants of health. They believe in listening closely to their patients’ stories and working collaboratively to address the issues standing in the way of wellbeing. They are honored to teach and learn from residents and medical students. Outside of work, Dr. Burmaster enjoys vintage motorcycles, reading, and spending time with their dog.
