About Me:

Dr. Baird grew up in Iowa and first became interested in caring for patients with Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders when she worked as a nurse’s assistant in a nursing home. She studied French and Neuroscience at Grinnell College, and received her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. She and her husband moved to Portland for her neurology residency at OHSU and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. She completed a fellowship in Movement Disorders at Oregon Health and Science University, where her research focused on identifying more sensitive biomarkers of early Parkinson's disease progression in order to design better clinical trials. She is especially interested in how neuroinflammation may contribute to the development of Parkinson's disease and how the immune system might be harnessed to protect and repair the brain. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, baking, yoga, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Dr. Baird went above and beyond in listening carefully to concerns, took a great deal of time conducting MOCA exam, carefully explained the results and offered additional resources beyond her office to address these concerns. Excellent and caring physician.

Positive experience with overall care. Long wait list to see doctor for new patient visit (several months out after referral.) Doctor was helpful, and assisted at addressing needs in regards to condition and symptoms.

My surgeon sent a referral for an EMG. At my appointment they informed me this appointment was a Consultation, so now a week later I'm still trying to get an appointment for an EMG again.

Very difficult if not impossible to get to talk to an actual person on the phone. Very frustrating when you can't speak to someone or get a return call from someone when you need to speak with someone about an issue or appointment.

Entering bldg 2 from the garage or TRYING to is aLogistical nightmare. On two different levels doors locked. One elevator told us to go to floor HTo get across to destination. There's no H offeredOn the button column in elevator.

Though Dr Baird was kind overall, it felt clear she didn't understand why I would continue to pursue a diagnosis or treatment plan given little helpful data. The issues I'm dealing with are truly destroying key aspects of my life. I was given no direction to move forward and felt that she might believe I was making a big deal' out of things which other people have attempted to define and manage. I guess I felt minimized and ashamed for continuing to try to get well- for continuing to report all the things that aren't right and aren't getting better.

Dr. Baird was very professional, as well as friendly. She had reviewed my medical history, and was thorough in her questions about my condition. She explained the available treatment options thoroughly, and discussed the follow up. I am very pleased with her care.

The text for conformation of my appointment was the only information I got. It didn't let me know where to park or what building I had to go to or phone contact # or office number in the building so although I got to the complex on time I had difficulty and some waiting to to find the pertinent and essential info so I was late.
