About Me:

Bryan Maxwell is a cardiac anesthesiologist who is trained in caring for both adult and pediatric patients with cardiovascular disease who require cardiac or noncardiac surgery, obstetric care, or other interventions. He is board certified in anesthesiology and in perioperative echocardiography, and was a well-recognized academic researcher and teacher at Johns Hopkins University before relocating to Portland in 2015. He has a particular interest in patients with congenital heart disease (from babies to adults who have survived for decades with a congenital heart problem), patients with pulmonary hypertension, and patients who in general are high-risk candidates for surgery and anesthesia. He is dedicated to guiding patients through the complex perioperative process from beginning to end. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, hiking, camping, cooking, and trail running.
