About Me:
Before coming to Medicine, I spent 13 years working in social services, including the elderly, homeless, LGBTQ and those with HIV. This has profoundly influenced my approach to patient care. I believe in spending time with my patients, and those involved with their care, to understand who they are and what matters most to them. Together we can then balance their values with medical evidence and expert opinions. Outside of work, I am actively involved in my sons' school and in our Jewish community. I believe in lifelong learning, including medicine and science in general. I also study Jewish ethics and have a soft spot for musical theater, film and science fiction.
Patient Rating
Legacy wants every patient to have great care, every time. To help measure and improve patient satisfaction, we send surveys to randomly selected patients after their appointments. We use this feedback from the surveys to improve and enhance the care we offer. Learn more about our surveys & ratings
Receptionist was rude after I asked if I could attend my appointment without a mask. Ben is a nice enough guy but he seems aloof to individual patient needs. He didn't have my medical records and apparently didn't review them. He Intended to make the same mistakes with improper labs he made during my last physical until I reminded him of the previous errors. Ben gives the impression that he is less concerned about the individual patient than he is about pushing people through. As a human being, I like Ben. As a Dr, I don't have confidence in him.
Dr. Brody and his staff make me feel like I am his only patient. They are always through, have time to answer your questions and caring.
Maybe more time with Dr.
This is a very comfortable environment, and the care received is very competant.
Not enough help -
Very good
Best primary care doctor I have had.
Dr. Brody was very easy to talk to and answered my questions professionally.
I've never had a bad experience at this office ! They are all great at what they do , and very nice on top of that . Dr. Brody is one in a million so glad we have him . I started with him my hubby followed now his mom is coming soon .
Dr. Brody has been my doctor for many years. He is knowledgeable. For example, I had questions about my health and a discussion whether I needed a POLST. Dr. Brody, gave me all of the information I needed to make a decision, including why I would or would not need a POLST at this point in my life. He also discussed data backing my decision. As far as the medical part - cholesterol/A1C, again, a thorough discussion backed by research data. So, I do trust him.
Oh my! Doctor requested a blood draw; I waited a full 15 min.'s in a closed room. Not Happy about that. I opened door and requested what is going On! My Doctor walked by; hay! That's not good. His nurse came running w/feeling she had to get another patient in a room. No! Finish with me first -I thought. Wasn't happy at All !
First visit. Changed insurance and had to establish a new doctor. Not 100% sure on this doctors bed side manner. Seemed a little short. I have another appointment scheduled in a couple months so we'll see how his attitude is.
My PCP was attentive as always, informative and to the point. The assistant Marissa asked me about all my meds and was very professional taking my vitals. Great team.
Dr. Brody listened carefully regarding my insomnia problem and provided positive suggestions. Marisa was very professional and pleasant. Likewise, the front desk lady was curteous and pleasant.
Every one was imformative and pleasant.
I waited 55 minutes beyond my appt time then waited 25 more in the room for dr body. At check in I Should of been informed he was running over an hr behind to decide if I could stay. Then blood draw was a 15 minute wait in my room and never saw anyone so I left. A 15 minute appt took over an hr and a half which is ridiculous I am looking for a new primary dr as we speak. Very unprofessional practice of leaving people waiting to that degree
Dr Brody is the best overall PCP I've had as adult. He always listens, explains in a way I have an accurate comprehension and makes me feel valued as a partner in my own healthcare. Marissa his MA is very professional and competent in updating my meds and asking the questions my PCP needs to better assess why I'm there. I couldn't be in better hands.
Dr. Brody is my doctor, like him very much. He takes all the time necessary to explain medical issues and why he recomends a certain medication or procedure etc.
Very helpful and good recommendations and referrals.
Site was neat and clean, receptionist was alert ,friend, and helpful
Not sure why I needed to sign a medicine contract after nearly 11 months of being on the medication. What changed? Felt like suddenly I was under suspicion. Would have been better to have done it when I first started. One or more terms of the contract are overly broad, and/or vague. I get why providers feel 5hw need to have them, but they make a lot of ADHD patients feel like they aren't trusted. Trust Is a two way street: If I don't feel like my doctor trusts me, I'm not going to trust them. After my first few visits with De. Brody it no longer seems like he's listening to me as much. He makes a diagnosis really quickly, yet is too willing to agree with me if I don't initially agree with it and/or the proposed course of action. I think this is probably at least in part to the pressures of our horrible medical system in this country. Doctors are under pressure to see too many patients a day and thus can't spend enough time with each patient. As someone with anxiety sometimes I need a little time ro feel comfortable asking about an issue. I think Dr. Brody is probably much better than most doctors and it's likely not his fault, but it still makes me less likely to seek care.
Dr. Brody is awesome Dr. Efficient.
All good. Like everyone that is the team. Thank you for being a wonderful team.
Doc is extremely thorough and knowledgeable, always keeping up and monitoring me as a patient .I appreciate that
Have a nice day!
This was a bad experience all around and it began the moment I walked in, when I was handed paperwork that I physically could not complete and no assistance was even offered.
Original appt was set a 2 months out, was asked about being put on a on call list. Got in for physical within a couple of weeks. Benefit for both parties! One of the things I like about Doc Brody is he's not afraid of telling you how it is.
I love Dr Brody. He gives me full attention and spends the time needed with me to answer my questions. I thank Marisa for her comfort and helping me after my procedure yesterday. She made me feel important and showed she cared about me.
Always treated with courtesy, & respect, careful listening.
All of the staff were extremely helpful.
The last few yearly check ups, Dr Brody took time to visit and talk a bit. This visit was fast and quick. I had questions he answered but he didn't solicit any questions. That said, when I email questions, I do get quick responses.
Provider listen carefully to my concerns and then we discuss them.
The Dr is kind and caring . However the ladies who check u in or schedule we're very short to put it mildly . I was too sick to fight them. I needed an afternoon appointment and I was offered 750 am 3 times .Too early. She just assumed I can't get up. I do get up early but my health problems make morning the worst .The women were down right confrontational I might not be so weak next time to stand up for myself!
Dr. Brody has been one of my favorite doctors. He is kind, he listens, and I believe he trusts me as much as I trust him.
Very Slow on service once in room; Doctor had already came and left. I was waiting for a flu shot! Doctor nurse had to be on phone! So another nurse came once I opened door to say; Hello! Waiting for a flu shot. She helped me out. Wasn't happy w/Doctor nurse being on phone & not finishing caring for me!
I have only great words for my provider. He takes excellent care of me
Love the guy he is great
Came in to get a prescription changed and it took almost 2 hours. Did not need to know the history of the medications. Long wait to get blood drawn.
Most of my check up or routine care done by verbal conversation. Hardly by physical exam.
This was my first visit with Dr Brody and I was extremely well satisfied. He clearly had read and understood my medical history and he was very easy to talk with and discuss issues involving my health care. Very amiable. I would him as a care provider to any of my friends.
I am grateful to your team for the care they gave me.Thank you.
Dr. Brody is caring, attentive and knowledgeable.
Really like the care from Dr. Brody.
He always shows concern about any questions or concerns that we have, he has a great MA so it makes going to the Dr not such a bad thing. He keeps tabs on me about any problems the medications I am taking that could cause me problems because of the side effect of them.
Dr. Brody is very understanding and comfortable to interact with!
Dr. Brody listens well and takes my concerns seriously.
All my questions and requests were listened to and I received the information I needed.
Dr. Brody and his team are excellent. This doesn't just happen, it is the result of caring. Thank You!
Dr Brody just seemed like he was frustrated at thee time at my appointment, and he didn't spend the time with me that he usually does. He was sure of my medical history. .
I appreciate Dr. Brody - He listening to me & allows me to have a brain to stay healthy & does not push anything on me.
I had a very good experience with this office and I always do.
Everyone was good but not to helpful in the office
Dr. Brody always listens to my questions and gives me good feedback.
It took four months to get a new patient visit but aside from that I couldn't be happier with the experience. The Doctor and staff were extremely pleasant and competent and met all my expectations. I came away completely pleased and satisfied. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
Dr. Brody is an exceptional physician. He took time with me and answered all my questions. I have referred my brother to him. Legacy canby clinic is lucky to have him.
Dr. Brody is outstanding! He listens, takes adequate time for the visit - I would not want to lose him as my "provider."
Very respectful, courteous, and willing to listen to my concerns.
I should have made the appt. With my foot Dr. Instead of Dr. Brody. Dr. Brody's office does not have x-ray machine. The problem was with my small toe on my left foot. My foot Dr Office has an x-ray.
Very pleased
Dr. Brody is my finest doctor. Marissa, his assistant is kind, caring, and empathetic.
We have always had a good experience at this office from the very beginning.
The Canby office is as good as the Tualatin office is bad. As a new patient I was told it would take 4 weeks for them to register them and when I called after six weeks, they said it would be 8 more weeks. Canby registered me on the first call.
Dr. Brody has always taken time necessary to ensure all of my questions and concerns were addressed. He has also reached out with comfort & encouragement when the challenges of my personal life were greatly impacting my health. He is most thoughtful & genuine in the care and advice he gives.
I always feel I'm being treated like a person not a number. They are all great but brody is the best!!!
Thoughtful and direct. Knows my medical history and relates to things which may improve it.
Really liked Dr. Brody, and his assistant Marisa is great!
Helped explained aspects of my Healthcare that others had not
Authentic respectful helpful
Every one there are good at what they do and treat me well
Dr. Brody and his staff always accommodate my severe hearing loss and are very understanding of what hearing loss is. This means a lot to me!
It was a great visit and I'd recommend it to all my friends thank you
Each of my appointments with Dr. Brody have been very good experiences. Dr. Brody goes above and beyond. He really discusses issues relating to my visit and when necessary my overall healthcare. When my husband is eligible for Medicare he will be following with Dr. Brody (for all of the questions asked in the survey.)
My Doctor has always taken his own time getting into the room I'm in . I've always to wait at least 15 mins to a half an hour . It is very frustrating, especially when I need to get to work . Other than that , he's been a good doctor .
This was a first visit to establish primary care doctor. Enjoyed meeting Dr. Brody and was impressed that he knew my history.
I'm satisfied with things, generally.
I have recommended this provider to several people and the ones who have used him, have been very satisfied.
We did not get off to a good start.
Dr. Brody is an excellent physician and very knowledgeable. Plus patient. Amount of time for an appointment Is sometimes not enough. This is a VERY BUSY Legacy Clinic. Seriously understaffed with physicians and long waiting periods to get an appointment with the best doctor in the Clinic, Dr Brody. Often have to wait 2-3 Weeks unless I catch a cancellation.
I am very happy and pleased with my dr. and all his staff. The nurses are wonderful! I thank them for my health.
Friendly staff - dr. who listens/NO egotist.
Never have a long wait time & the people are always so nice.
Dr Brody is one of your best physicians, he listens and engages with his patients. I feel I can discuss anything with him.
Dr.Brody has always taken every step to provide myself, and my family with the most excellent care we could every find. He respects, listens, and takes the time to evaluate what we need to have done with our medical/Emotional needs. He's been a great fit for us, we think he's great!
Still establishing a relationship
I never really have a good sense for what the plan of treatment is, to include NEXT STEPS! It really helps me to know what the next steps are....ie...if this medication does work then what?
Really aporeciate Dr Brody and his nurse Marissa, they both make you feel important.
I have always gotten great care and provided with other doctors and clinic's through refurals.
Dr. Brody is the BEST doctor I have ever had.
Staff is always pleasant and helpful.

Waited four months for apptmt w/new provider. The reception staff was disdainful & condescending. Refusing to provide followup apptmt w/in timeline recommended by dr. She said it "wasnt a priority" since she could not see the notes from the apptmt. The provider seemed distracted and rushed. The MA was wonderful & caring.
