About Me:

Before coming to Medicine, I spent 13 years working in social services, including the elderly, homeless, LGBTQ and those with HIV. This has profoundly influenced my approach to patient care. I believe in spending time with my patients, and those involved with their care, to understand who they are and what matters most to them. Together we can then balance their values with medical evidence and expert opinions. Outside of work, I am actively involved in my sons' school and in our Jewish community. I believe in lifelong learning, including medicine and science in general. I also study Jewish ethics and have a soft spot for musical theater, film and science fiction.

Dr. Brody listens to me and asks questions about my conditions in order to arrive at the best option for treating my condition. He truly cares for his patients and strives to give excellent care. Because he thinks through all possible solutions, he has saved my life, possible twice. I hope he never retires so that he will be my doctor for the rest of my life.

Great visit. He listened to my concerns and resolved all my issues. He was friendly, professional, polite, and personable. Asked several times before leaving if there was anything else I needed or wanted from him.

Dr was good at trying to figure out the cause of the pain I'm currently experiencing. His bedside manner could improve but this is easily overlooked due to his efforts in helping me find out what's causing the pain.

We have a copayment and they always tell us that there is no payment for the visit. Then we get a bill in the mail for the copay.

I THINK MY PCP'S OFFICE IS OK. I LIKE DR BRODY VERY WELL, HE SPENDS TIME WITH ME AS I THINK HE SHOULD, HIS EXPLANATION ON MY DECISION ON FUTHER OR DIFFERENT CARE WITH OTHER PROVIDERS WITH IN THE LEGACY SYETEM SOMETIMES IS VERY CONFUSING. SOME TIMES I FEEL DR BRODY IS VERY FLIP IT ABOUT MY DIAGOSIS, OR TREATMENT WHICH FRUSTRATES ME. I REALIZE I AM JUST HIS PATIENT, BUT NEED TO KNOW HE IS CONCERNED AT THE TIME OF ADVISE HE IS WITH ME AND NOT JUST GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS. OTHER THEN THAT I THINK HE IS A GOOD PHYSICAIN. PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT PUTTING HIM DOWN, BUT SOME OF THE CONCERNS I HAVE HAD WHILE HE IS MY DOCTOR IS HERE. Dr Brody's MA Marissa is so thorough and professional you feel 100% covered on meds you're taking. Dr Brody has always been astute in remembering my medical history and is thorough and proactive, I like his addition of the pharmacologist that Medicare has me see annually. I'm very blessed with my healthcare team.

What a major difference with Dr Brody, compared to Dr. V who was like taking to the wall, on a good day, she was by far the worst doctor that I have ever had during my 86 years.

I would like to comment on The Visit that was stated. Missed the one just before this 1 I went in and things were going a little late. I went up and asked the receptionist 2 the right about it. Kiddingly, and she argued with me over 1 minute. Then she got Sparky at me and was very rude. I continued to wait then. I walked out because of the receptionist called back to talk to the office manager. He never returned my call she is very rude. Disrespectful has no customer service and when the office manager did not return my call, which I felt was very rude and not customer service-oriented. She needs to have a lot of lessons on customer service and then when I went back I will not talk to her ever again. Thank you.

Dr. Brody is a very compassionate doctor and really takes time with his patients, thus I think that's why the wait time can sometimes be longer than anticipated. I would, however prefer that than be rushed out to be on a time clock.

Dr. Brody took ample time to talk through all of my questions. He gave me useful information and advice. I feel like he is attentive to my health conditions and medical history and showed a willingness to be helpful in maintaining my health and wellbeing. Overall, I was very impressed with my first visit.

Criticized my weight as soon as he walked in, asked if my elevated BP was because I was still using smkless tobacco, haven't in 6 or more years. Referred to back surgery I didn't have. Didn't listen to my concerns about area that an mri would be able to see. Went as far as standing on his tiptoes and raised his voice about not ordering 2 mri. I never asked for 2 just wanted to make sure the readings would reflect area of concern. I will be looking for new primary if this is how I am disrespected when in the worst pain of my life. Also ordered a medication that does nothing to actually assist a serious nerve issue.

It's really hard to get appointments for illnesses because by the time someone is available to see me I've recovered or near death. Went to Immediate Care in Oregon City when I was very ill... Like what's the point in having a "family" physician when they are never available, when the only time I'm seen is for annual physicals.

Dr.Brody seems to only want to do the minimum necessary, exams are cursory,his attitude is dismissive. That being said, he's not much different from most physicians.

Dr. Brody is an excellent doctor. Not only does he really care for his patients, he is extremely knowledgeable and he takes the time to digest all the information I give him on my condition and then asks good questions to totally understand my condition. Then he comes up with a plan of treatment. This may be sending me to a specialist, which he did in this case. Ans he will look back at my chart to see how long ago a test was done, or to dig up any other information to help him make the correct decision. I have heard from friends who have him as their P.C. And they also think the world of him.

Dr Brody clearly takes into account my health, abilities and other factors when he offers advice. He doesn't just prescribe a pill to fix a number on a chart, he understands how the treatment might affect my ability to function and thrive. I'm 65 and Dr Brody is the first and only Dr that consciders my complete experience.

Dr. Brody actually got his anatomy book out & had me show him where the pain was. He injected the area with cortisone and lidocaine and I am virtually pain free this morning, after suffering from 2 1/2 months of agony. I hope this lasts for a long time. I appreciated Dr. Brody listening to me and investigating the issue and acting on it. I'm so thankful this morning, November 29th. Thank you.
