About Me:

Avishai Meyer, M.D. has a special interest in bariatric surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction and gastrointestinal diseases. He works with his patients on wellness and prevention. He is also interested in educating patients so that they can return to their respective communities and engage with others regarding disease prevention and/or surgery if needed. He is also active in the robotic surgery community nationally having performed and proctored over 700 cases to date. He loves teaching and mentoring residents in all aspects of their general surgery training. Dr. Lord enjoys daily exercise including running, yoga, HIIT and swimming, traveling and spending time with family.

Training: General Surgeon and Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Meyer is a board certified surgeon with Legacy Medical Group-Oregon Surgical. Dr. Meyer earned his medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine/ NY program - TAU and completed his residency at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. He also received a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at the University of Nebraska. Dr. Meyer is a fellow with the American College of Surgeons. A specialist in bariatric surgery, his interests include gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy as well as revisions and post-bariatric complications. The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery has accredited Legacy Weight and Diabetes Institute as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.
