About Me:

Alexandra "Alix" Dixon is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. She is a native of the northwest and received her BA from Lewis & Clark College before heading down to the Big Easy, where she obtained her MD and MPH from Tulane University. She then returned to Portland for her residency in General Surgery at Oregon Health and Sciences University, where she was an active member of the Trauma Research Institute of Oregon (TRIO). She completed her fellowship in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her research interests include coagulopathy and endotheliopathy of trauma, as well as whole blood resuscitation. When not at work, you can find Alix exploring the amazing Portland food scene and Willamette Valley wine country with her husband and new baby. She also enjoys spending time outside fishing, backpacking, rafting, and snowboarding.
