About Me:

Dr. Furukawa is delighted to practice the full spectrum of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She is passionate about high and low risk obstetrics, adolescent gynecology, contraception, sexual health, infertility, vulvar disorders, management of abnormal bleeding and menopause. She is honored to partner with her patients through the decades, and deeply values these long-term relationships. Dr. Furukawa is from Spokane, WA but has put down deep roots in Portland. She enjoys diving into a good book, outdoor adventures with her two boys, exploring Portland restaurants, admiring neighborhood architecture with her husband, and sipping a good cup of coffee. She loves international travel and has collaborated on women’s health projects in Guatemala and Ethiopia. She looks forward to meeting you!

Training: Dr. Furukawa excels in minimally invasive gynecology surgery, offering outpatient hysterectomy, advanced hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and office-based procedures such as colposcopy, LEEP, and endometrial ablation.

Excellent care and response to my health care concerns & questions. My original appt was with Dr but she got called away for labor delivery. I traveled 2hours for appt; didn't get reschedule phone call in time to turn around. No fault of registration staff or provider. When I explained my situation, they did everything they could to get me seen by another provider. Thank you so much !! Saved me travel time and ability to not have to take more time off work for annual check up. I travel the long distance due to the high quality medical care I receive from this office and staff. Excellent care.

Dr. Furakawa asked me about my satisfaction with my medication and suggested a different dosage. She asked specific questions about my quality of life related to this medication and I felt like she understood my struggles before I could even explain them. She also took the time to go over my mental health and suggested ways I could address them both with additional providers or other resources. I felt hopeful that my struggles would decrease with a few of the changes and suggestions she made. I'm very happy with my relationship with her and am grateful she is my provider.

Dr. Furukawa is so incredibly smart. She always explains risks and benefits to the patient and helps them to make a decision together. She respects my opinions and wishes. She is kind and generous with her time. I'm so lucky to have her through my deliveries, miscarriage, and other health care needs.

Overall experience was great. Dr. Furukawa I very thorough and informative with patient care. I would recommend her service with my family and friends. We felt love and really cared for. I had a safe delivery and good recovery after my c-section.
