Our renewed commitment to you
By Melinda Muller, M.D.
Interim Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
More than one-third of you took the time to share valuable insight and honest feedback during the first few months of 2020 when you took part in our Provider Pulse Engagement survey. It is hard to fathom how much has changed within our profession, our organization, and our world since that time. As I continue to review what you shared almost a year ago, before any of us knew what was to come, your words not only hold their meaning, but they also ring more clearly than ever before.
The past eight months have shown that not only is the provider voice key to improving engagement and workplace culture, it is also at the very center of our ability to achieve our mission. Your voice and alignment, both operational and strategic, are essential. We recognize that we have a lot of work ahead to continue engaging with you throughout the year. Your survey feedback confirms this is a critical need. We also understand that it may be difficult to trust our word when you saw little change following the last provider survey in 2018. We need to earn your trust back and realize that it will take time.
Your Legacy leaders promise transparency about what we have learned from your survey responses as well as clarity about the actions we will take to improve in areas prioritized by your feedback. I encourage you to take a few minutes to review the at-a-glance results from the 2020 provider engagement survey, which also includes seven core commitments we have made to address your feedback.
To kick-off action planning, I will host an EngagementM&M event on Dec. 14 from 5:30p.m. – 6:30p.m.We will use this listening session as an opportunity for you to provide additional feedback and dialogue with your physician leaders. In addition, given the high stress levels due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, we are using this time as a venue for sharing and providing support to each other. Everyone is working extremely hard and with that can come feelings of fatigue and burnout. Simply sharing and connecting with colleagues can help ease these feelings. You will receive an Outlook invitation later today to join me for this important discussion.
For more information on the Provider Pulse Engagement survey and to see your site-specific survey results from 2020, please visit the Provider Portal Input and Influence page.In the coming months, you can also expect to hear from your direct clinical leadership with an ask for your participation to define action plans that address items that are most important to you.
We are committed to collaborating with you in order to make Legacy a better place to give and receive care. This work begins today and continues every day moving forward. Your continued feedback is critical to the success of this endeavor. We intend to listen.
