Pediatric and Neonatal Clinical Outreach Education
Overview
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), based on American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Heart Association (AHA) recommendations, offers an algorithm-based approach to the immediate care and resuscitation of the stressed or sick neonate. This course is based on the 8th edition NRP course materials, released in 2021.
The NRP Course is designed to teach the lifesaving skills required to be both a team member and a team leader for an infant needing resuscitation. Because the NRP Course covers extensive material in a short time, you will need to prepare for the course beforehand.
This Part 2 Skills Session is for health care professionals who might respond to a neonatal emergency at the time of delivery (completion of NRP online Part 1 required to attend). Upon completion, participants will gain the knowledge and skills for neonatal resuscitation.
Course Objectives:
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an AHA/AAP-issued NRP Provider Card valid for two years. Legacy Health System, Patient Care, 1015 NW 22nd Avenue, Portland, Oregon, 97210, is approved as a continuing education provider.
