Most of the time, the stuff in our bodies go about their business without causing problems. Sometimes, though, viruses, germs, parasites and diseases can make us very sick. If this happens, your child may develop a prolonged fever, a persistent cough, difficulty breathing or other symptoms.

You know your child better than anyone and bring your own level of expertise to each appointment. Your child will receive premiere pediatric care from specialists who listen to you, carefully observe your child and have the experience to identify symptoms, recommend tests and prescribe treatment plans tailored to your child’s unique situation.

Because the entire Randall Care team is experienced in the physical, emotional and social development of children, you’ll have peace-of-mind knowing your child’s care will extend beyond infectious disease. Together, we’ll create a total care plan for your child and your family.

Conditions we treat

If your child has an infectious illness requiring specialist care, you can experience peace of mind at Randall Children’s. Our pediatric specialists are focused on a wide range of conditions related to infectious diseases, including:

  • Infections requiring prolonged IV antibiotics
  • Congenital infections
  • Hospital follow-up of invasive infections
  • Infections in patients with weakened immune systems
  • Tuberculosis (TB)
  • Infections from tropical diseases

What can you expect?

A trip to the doctor’s office or hospital can make children and their parents a little nervous. Our care team is here to help and put all of you at ease.

Before the visit, your primary care provider will discuss the case with an Infectious Disease specialist to make your visit most effective and efficient. We’ll find out important information related to your child’s condition such as how long the symptoms have been occurring, any recent travel your family has taken and any medications your child takes. On the day of your doctor’s visit, you and your child will be encircled by a care team experienced in working with children and their families.
